We are pleased to invite you to the 17th annual Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center scientific retreat.
This year's event is being held from noon Friday, Sept. 26, through Saturday evening, Sept. 27, at the Hyatt Regency Suites in Palm Springs, Calif.
We have what promises to be an exciting agenda.
Our keynote speaker is Ze'ev Ronai, PhD, a professor and deputy director of the Sanford-Burnham Medical Research Institute in La Jolla, Calif.
The institute is one of only seven National Cancer Institute-designated basic cancer research centers in the country.
Ronai is an internationally renowned cancer biologist with expertise in the study of signaling networks that are deregulated in cancer, including networks that use ubiquitin ligases, stress activated kinases and ATF transcription factors.
Discoveries from the Ronai laboratory have had a major impact on understanding how ER stress, hypoxia and mitochondrial biogenesis and dynamics contribute to tumor progression in melanoma, prostate and breast cancer.
See you in Palm Springs!
