Registration is now open for the Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center 2016 Annual Scientific Meeting, which wil be held Saturday, November 19, at the Hilton Long Beach Hotel.
This 1-day meeting will highlight some of the outstanding research being conducted throughout the Cancer Center and offer fora for discussing opportunites for future scientific advancement through breakout discssions.
We are pleased to announce that this year’s keynote speaker is Dr. Mitchell Gross, MD, PhD, Associate Professor of Clinical Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine of USC and Research Director of the Lawrence J. Ellison Institute for Transformative Medicine of USC, the USC Westside Cancer Center and the USC Center for Applied Molecular Medicine.
The Ellison Institute, you may recall, was born from a recent $200 million gift from Oracle co-founder Larry Ellison and will bring together researchers, doctors and scientists from a broad range of fields and disciplines to study cancer and ways to prevent, detect and treat cancer.
As one of the leaders of this exciting new initiative and given his substantial experience fostering collaborative, multidisciplinary research in academic medical centers in addition to his background as a clinical and translational researcher—Dr. Gross applies modern genomic and proteomic approaches to the clinical problems faced in treating patients with prostate cancer—Dr. Gross’s presentation promises to be quite interesting, so be sure to reserve your seat.
